Amid the chaos and "Apocalypse " it seems we are living, the last mega disaster occurred on March 11 in Japan, seems to have been destined to do just that place: a country with a huge sense of brotherhood and strength to overcome even more unimaginable obstacles and tragedies.
Proof of this is the attitude of Japanese people with these experiences. Their reactions even in the midst of pain and tragedy for so many human and material losses are really a great example for the world. In an email I received a couple of days, the comments from both Japanese and foreigners currently living in the country, confirmed:
"After the earthquake, I was tired, waiting for a train that never came. Sitting on the platform, a "homeless" (homeless bum) offered me a cardboard box, because it was very cold. I used to see such people with eyes of contempt ... but that gesture I warmed the heart. "
"In supermarkets, where goods are lying on the floor, the Japanese collected with care, fit on the shelves and then formed in line to pay at the box ... And in the train line became operational in a car really full, I noticed an old man wanted to give her seat to a pregnant young woman ... "

" Nobody thought to steal or abuse, to instead help, they are very disciplined and chivalrous. Personally, I thought the Japanese were very cold, but I think in these cases are re-discovering their union. It moves me and makes me mourn ... "
" It's also very touching to see that the artists, to encourage people, are painting and illustrating beautiful images. It seems that everybody thinks they can do for others ... "
" Today I could finally do my shopping in the supermarket. In other countries they have to close the shops and super markets, fearing the violence. Where shoppers had only the most necessary ... to reach for everyone! So I understood it ... and the tears came ... "
" Yesterday in Gotemba not work or a traffic light but the traffic was flowing because the drivers gave way, and helping elderly residents with the signs. During the nine hours I drove, there was no confusion or disorder, all behaved very polite. We are not alone. We will support. We're going to animate. What is the end is LOVE
!..." "Japan is sugoi! The government ... the private sector ... everybody helps everybody. The truck drivers volunteered to carry the necessities for the victims, and even the Yakuza (gangsters) are helping with traffic in the streets of Tohoku. Until recently, many things made me feel proud to be Japanese ... How wrong I was! My people are simply breathtaking. All Japanese are going to leave it with gusto! WA NIHONN Sugoi! - Japan is amazing! "
Certainly these tragedies serve to hit and open minds. In Mexico it was very obvious after the terrible earthquake in l985, the Federal District, which also took thousands of lives. Spontaneously aid brigades were formed to shelter and food to victims, or to recover human remains from the rubble.
admirable thing in the case of Japan is to see how these things-that suddenly might appear to our "Western way" of seeing things as very cold and lacking in emotion, in this case have turned outwards, his generosity and his concept of respect for the good of others.
Unlike our cultures where, under similar circumstances, sometimes seem to prevail rather the motto "every man for himself", they go to the supermarket and buy only what is necessary because someone needs also of those food! This is called "civility" ... and, indeed, love of neighbor !
My grandfather used to say: "always have to deserve." In the case of Japan, the unspeakable pain and suffering that suffered from the bombs of Hiroshima and Nagasaki , perhaps they have grown stronger, becoming more inward.
A true miracle for all that has passed and survived thanks to its wise and deeply spiritual nature, Japan is a nation with a huge sense, sacred, about the work, honor and respect ... of working together, because either one is good. Japan
now becomes a mirror in which everyone can portraying ourselves. Are going through a very difficult time as a country and society, but ARE UNITED and appreciate the interest of all as their own!
is a society that lives and practices a sense of oneness, order, discipline and cooperation toward a common good. Seem to have long practiced the motto WE ARE ALL ONE ... Lesson we may well start practicing in many other countries in the world ... Thank you, Japan, for your amazing lesson! Elvira G.
